Michael Redmond (pictured), former executive director at Upper Valley Haven, a nonprofit providing shelter, food and support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty, has been named interim executive director at the Housing and Homelessness Alliance of Vermont, effective Nov. 17.
Redmond's appointment follows the announcement that Frank Knaack, the organization's first executive director, will step down on Nov. 7. Under Knaack's leadership, HHAV strengthened partnerships statewide, advanced meaningful policy change and expanded the organization’s capacity to support providers and communities working to end homelessness and ensure housing for all Vermonters.
“On behalf of the HHAV board, I want to express our gratitude to Frank,” said board chair Sarah Phillips. “He has been a committed and caring leader, helping us put the building blocks for long-term success in place."
She added, “We are delighted to welcome Michael into this interim leadership role. His steady leadership and proven expertise will help ensure that we remain focused and effective as we continue our vital work.”
