O’Brien to Receive CSJ’s Commitment to Excellence Award

The College of St. Joseph in Rutland, VT, is pleased to name Tom O’Brien of O’Brien, Shortle, Reynolds, & Sabotka, CPA, the recipient of its “Commitment to Excellence” Award, presented annually at the CSJ Gala event, to be held February 25, 2011. O’Brien, of Rutland, is co-founder of his own business, has served as an Assistant Professor of Business at the college since 1975, and is active in the Rutland community, having served on several boards, currently including RRMC, the Rutland Free Library, and Heritage Family Credit Union. O’Brien was chosen as the college’s award recipient because he has demonstrated excellence in his profession, has worked to make the community a better place, and has maintained the highest standards of personal and professional ethics.

The “Commitment to Excellence” Award will be presented to O’Brien by college president Frank G. Miglorie at the 5th Annual CSJ Gala, held at the Holiday Inn in Rutland, February 25, 2011. The Gala is an annual event that raises money for the CSJ Student Scholarship program and its pioneer STEPS Program (Students Taking an Effective Path to Success), which helps youth in foster care transition to life as independent adults through higher education.
