contributors, who are the source of most of VPT’s operating revenue.
Hauenstein has 28 years’ experience raising funds for public broadcasting
stations, most recently three years as director of development for
WILL/Illinois Public Media in Urbana, Ill. In 2009, he and his staff
received two PBS Development Awards, including the PBS Overall Excellence in
Development Award, the highest development award given by PBS.
For two decades before joining WILL, Hauenstein held development positions
at WGBH Boston.
John King, president of VPT, said, “George will help us build on our past
success and take our community-focused development efforts to the next
level.”
He is a graduate of Boston College and lives in Williston.
