GE Aerospace supervisors Jeremy Bates of Castleton and Amanda Dayton of Rutland have been honored by the Department of Defense with Patriot Awards for their support of employee Joseph Orvis, a staff sergeant of E Company in the Vermont Army National Guard in White River Junction.

The DoD, through its Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve office, regularly recognizes companies and organizations that institute supportive and flexible work environments for guardsmen and reservists in their employ.

Bates, a second-shift flow leader, and Dayton, a second-shift team lead, at GE Plant 1 in Rutland, were presented with their awards by Vermont ESGR volunteer Rosanna LaCross, a GE employee and co-lead in the GE Veterans Network. Rutland plant leader Juan Milian, operations leader Marty Maher and business leader Dave Pratt were on hand to congratulate the honorees.
