The NIOSH course provides training in correct air sampling procedures and fiber counting techniques, and requires the passing of a practical and written exam. Key discussion points include the major health concerns of asbestos exposure, calibration of sampling equipment, and phase contrast microscopy. Only a handful of people in Vermont hold this certification, and Ms. Losch is the fourth ECS employee to obtain it.
