CVMC welcomes new providers

The Central Vermont Medical Center welcomes new providers, including Alison Chick, MMS, PA-C; Karen Gibbs, BSN, CCRN, NP; Kirsten Didrikson, MSN, BSN; Rachel Greene, DNP, FNP-BC and Dr. Peter Ireland, MD.

Alison Chick, MMS, PA-C joins CVMC Family Medicine – Waterbury

Before joining CVMC, Alison worked as a physician assistant in the ski town of Mt. Crested Butte, CO. She received her Physician Assistant degree from Red Rocks PA Program. Her medical interests include an integrative approach to the prevention and management of chronic diseases, women’s health, nutrition and weight loss, and sports medicine. Alison lives with her husband in Waterbury. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, biking, and baking.

Karen Gibbs, BSN, CCRN, NP joins CVMC Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing

Before joining CVMC, Karen worked for 16 years as a critical care nurse and nurse leader at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2020 from the University of Vermont. Her medical interests include geriatrics, chronic disease management, and end of life care. Karen grew up in Essex Junction, VT, where she now lives with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, gardening, and snowboarding.

Kirsten Didrikson, MSN, BSN, joins CVMC Endocrinology

Kirsten comes to CVMC from Framingham, MA, where she was a nurse practitioner specializing in diabetes education and care. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Regis College. Kirsten grew up in Minnesota and enjoys the activities from her childhood: skating, snowmobiling, and hiking. She now lives in Barre.

Rachel Greene, DNP, FNP-BC joins CVMC Family Medicine - Berlin

Rachel Greene comes to CVMC from the University of Vermont, where she completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. While she enjoys caring for patients of all ages, she is particularly interested in women’s health, pediatrics, and adolescent / young adult health. Rachel lives in Stowe with her partner. In her spare time, she enjoys being in the mountains, running, and skiing.

Dr. Peter Ireland, MD joins CVMC Family Medicine – Waterbury

Dr. Ireland grew up in Massachusetts and came to CVMC from St. Louis, Missouri, where he completed his family medicine residency at Saint Louis University’s Family Care Health Center. His medical interests include addiction medicine, opioid use disorder, and infectious diseases. In his spare time, he enjoys fixing automobiles and electronics. His current project is restoring a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. Dr. Ireland and his wife live in Waitsfield.
