Esther Charlestin, chair of the Vermont Commission on Women, has been elected to the National Association of Commissions for Women Board of Directors as a director-at-large and member of the Policy and Governance Committee. NACW is the nation’s premier membership organization representing state, county and local commissions for women.
Charlestin, founder and owner of the Vermont-based consulting firm Conversation Compass, will help guide NACW’s national efforts to strengthen women’s commissions and advance equity for women and girls nationwide.
“I’m looking forward to championing policies that strengthen and empower women’s commissions across the country and acting as a connector to support other women in this vital work,” said Charlestin, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate in 2024. “My hope is that we can equip commissioners with the tools, connections, and strategies they need to amplify women’s voices in their own states.”
