Bob Wolford honored by Turning Point

Bob Wolford, Howard Center’s Coordinator of Criminal Justice Programs, recently received the Tom Crowley Award at The Turning Point’s Circle of Stars annual dinner. The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County offers support for individuals in recovery, and the award was created in honor of Senator Tom Crowley, an advocate for people in recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction. It is presented annually to a person in the community who has performed outstanding work in support of people struggling with alcohol and/or drug addictions. The life-time achievement award recognizes Wolford for his compassion, caring, and guidance in helping countless of people who struggle with drug and alcohol addictions. Since 1987, Wolford has served as Howard Center’s Coordinator of Criminal Justice Systems, a program which recognizes that criminal actions are often linked to persistent mental health or substance abuse issues. As Coordinator of the program, Wolford and his team design and manage services for offenders to address underlying mental health issues and to support individuals while they begin to make changes in their lives. Bob Bick, Howard Center CEO, says, “On behalf of Howard Center, I commend Turning Point’s commitment to help individuals in recovery, and we appreciate their recognition of Bob.
