Attorney Jim Caffry, owner of Caffry Law in Waterbury, has been elected president of the Special Needs Alliance, a national organization composed of special needs planning attorneys committed to helping people with disabilities, their families and caregivers make informed choices about estate planning.
Caffry began focusing his practice on special needs law in 2006, a few years after his son’s autism diagnosis. In addition to working with individuals and families, Caffry Law also works with numerous trustees of special needs trusts as well as with estate planning, personal injury and family law attorneys throughout Vermont.
In addition to serving as the new SNA president, Caffry is a member of the Vermont Developmental Disabilities Payment Reform Advisory Committee and the Vermont Developmental Disabilities Housing Initiative. He is a former member of the board of Champlain Community Services, the Vermont Developmental Disabilities Council and the Vermont Autism Task Force.
