The Vermont Department of Labor has announced the promotion of Wendy Morse to the Regional Manager position for the Department’s offices in Bennington and Rutland. Ms. Morse has worked for the Department of Labor since 2002. Prior to accepting the position, Ms. Morse served as a Career Development Facilitator III, and in recent months as the interim manager while the position was under recruitment through the state’s system.
In addition to her work with the Department, Ms. Morse also has extensive work experience in marketing, advertising, purchasing and sales. She is a graduate of North Adams State College in Massachusetts, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Locally, Ms. Morse has served on the Workforce Development Partnership of Bennington County (WIB) as co-chair, Adult Workforce Council as chair, Bennington County Economic Development task force, Workforce & Education Committee and most recently elected to the Bennington County Industrial Corp. board of directors. Ms. Morse has been a VDOL coordinator on behalf of the Career Readiness Program in Bennington and provided leadership and development of several other workforce development projects in Bennington County of which includes the Bennington County Region Career & Job Expo.
She has plans to strengthen the overall delivery of regional VDOL services in Bennington and Rutland counties, implement collaborative integration of services targeting specialized populations, support and develop workforce development programs that better serves the goal of helping Vermonter's work.
