Vermont Tech welcomes Dwight Cross as associate dean of enrollment and alumni affairs

Vermont Tech has announced that Dwight Cross has returned to the college and is the new Associate Dean of Enrollment and Alumni Affairs. With 25 years of experience in the education field, Cross brings an open-mind and a strong work ethic to the position at Vermont Tech. Cross assumed the position in mid-April and will be working closely with Vermont high schools and tech centers as well as VSAC and other important agencies. Cross will also oversee outreach to Vermont Tech alumni, seeking their experience and expertise to encourage Vermonters to enroll at Vermont Tech.

“I believe Dwight’s addition to the college community will add strength and leverage to the work of our admissions and recruitment operation,” said President Dan Smith. “He will also give us the capacity to creatively engage our alumni and other stakeholders in support of the college.”

Cross has spent the last three years working as the Director of Admissions at the New England Culinary Institute where he was a member of the Senior Management Team and worked closely with all departments and faculty. Prior to that, Cross worked in a variety of admissions and enrollment positions at Vermont Tech. In his various roles, he planned and managed the Administrative Program and Policies related to Student Enrollment and Retention, as well as provided advice to potential and enrolled students. Additionally, Cross is a military veteran and has a passion for volunteering. Prior to his position at NECI, Cross was with Vermont Tech for 22 years.

Cross graduated from Norwich University in Norwich, Vermont in 1989 and is currently continuing his education at Johnson State College.
