Vermont engineer named to list of Top Young Professionals in New England

South Burlington engineer Greg Goyette has been named a “Top Young Professional” by a regional engineering industry magazine.

The New England edition of Engineering News Record (ENR) included Goyette, a transportation engineer and associate in the South Burlington office of Stantec, in its annual list of engineering professionals under the age of 40 from across New England who are up-and-coming leaders in the industry.

“Greg is truly deserving of this recognition,” says Gary Santy, leader of Stantec’s South Burlington office. “He is smart, professional, innovative, and driven – everything you could ever want in an engineer. The future looks bright for our industry with folks like Greg and the others on the list leading the way.”

The panel of judges selected the list of 10 based on criteria including community service, career experience, industry involvement, and industry certifications, licensures, or accreditations. Goyette moved up the ranks to associate at Stantec in just nine years, thanks to proving himself on a number of large projects, including the stormwater management plans at Fletcher Allen Medical Center, the highly sustainable Heritage Flight campus at Burlington International Airport, and the planned roundabout at the intersection of VT Route 100 and Main Street in Waterbury.

Goyette was named Vermont's 2008 Young Engineer of the Year by the state's engineering associations as well as a 2012 “Rising Star” by Vermont Business Magazine. He joins Maine-based Stantec colleague Jason Carr on the Top Young Professionals list.
