Food 4 Farmers is honored to announce the addition of three new board members who will play an integral role in advancing the organization’s mission to help coffee-farming families create a food-secure future. New members include Carrie McLaughlin of Keurig Dr Pepper, Juliana Rangel Posada of Texas A&M University, and Lindsey Bolger, a longtime coffee industry veteran.
“We’re excited to bring on board members who can add valuable perspective and depth to our work efforts to help coffee-farming families create a more food secure future,” said Rick Peyser, Senior Relationship Manager, Coffee & Cocoa at Lutheran World Relief and Food 4 Farmers co-founder.
“Given the low coffee price and increasing effects of climate change, many families are facing extreme threats to their livelihoods. Food 4 Farmers’ focus on community-appropriate solutions to hunger and quality of life are more important than ever.”
The new board members bring deep experience in many of the areas and countries where Food 4 Farmers works.
- Carrie McLaughlin, Early Production Center Engineering Manager, Keurig Dr Pepper - Carrie has worked been working in the coffee and environmental sustainability sector for more than 10 years. As an engineering manager at Keurig Dr Pepper, Carrie leads works with manufacturing, engineering, R&D, procurement and more to develop and commercialize innovations across the company. She has applied her technical experience and problem solving skills to mitigate the impacts of climate change locally and globally. In 2012, she established the Vermont chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB), partnering with local communities to develop clean water projects with coffee farming families in rural Nicaragua.
- Juliana Rangel Posada, Associate Professor, Department of Entomology, Texas A&M University - Juliana is an international leader in honey bee research. She has led multiple research projects focusing on honey bees and has received National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biology. Juliana serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Apicultural Research, and is an anonymous reviewer for multiple scientific journals.
- Lindsey Bolger, Industry Consultant - Lindsey is a senior executive with over 25 years expertise in the coffee industry working in global procurement, risk management, organizational development and social outreach. She previously lead Keurig Dr Pepper’s procurement efforts and has extensive experience working at every level of the coffee supply chain.
