Stowe attorney joins LEDC board

Allen C. B. Horsley, an attorney practicing in Stowe, has joined the Board of Directors of the Lamoille Economic Development Corporation. Horsley joined Barr & Associates, P.C. in 2008 as “of counsel” and specializes in commercial, business, real estate and general litigation. Having graduated with a BA in 1963 from Harvard University, Horsley went on to the University of Virginia Law School where he took his LLB in 1966 and to George Washington University National Law Center where he took his LLM in 1971. He served as a captain in the JAGC-Army from 1968 to 1971stationed at the Pentagon after first serving in Viet Nam from 1967 to 1968.

Horsley practiced law in Boston from 1971 until his retirement from LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & McRae, LP in 2007 and became a full-time resident of Stowe having been a long distance commuter for the previous 10 years. He was also an adjunct professor of law at the Vermont Law School from 2006 to 2009 where he taught commercial arbitration and Uniform Commercial Code, Art. II. He has been married to Heidi for 44 years who retired from her pediatric medical practice in 2000 and has been living in Stowe full time since that date. The Horsleys have 3 children, and 9 grandchildren and enjoy skiing, hiking and gardening.
