St Michael’s 2013 Dupont Award goes to VP for Institutional Advancement Patrick Gallivan (SMC ’89) of South Burlington

During Commencement Week activities May 9-12 at Saint Michael’s College, Patrick Gallivan of South Burlington, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, was presented the Dupont Award from the 2013 class of graduating seniors.

In presenting the award, Student Association (SA) Vice President Caitlin Zeytoonian, said Patrick Gallivan has been giving of his time and energy to Saint Michael’s since his days as a student when he served as SA President for two years, and worked to start the POW (pre-orientation weekend) program.

“Patrick has made it his mission to keep the alumni community engaged in the everyday life of Saint Michael’s,” Ms. Zeytoonian said. He served for many years as adviser to the Student Association, and during a recent retreat used the theme of “humble” as a quality that leaders should possess. “He is a servant leader to his core,” she said. Patrick is a volunteer and board member of Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, a summer camp for children who have or have had cancer. And has served on a number of boards.

“It is mind boggling to think of the number of leaders Patrick has inspired or been a role model to,” Ms. Zeytoonian said.
