State Rep. Jed Lipsky, I-Stowe, owner of Lipsky Logging and Land Clearing in Stowe, has been named one of two Loggers of the Year by the Professional Logging Contractors of the Northeast at the organization's 30th annual meeting May 9 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine.
The award recognizes PLC logging contractors who demonstrate a deep commitment to the sustainability of the industry and logging as a profession. Khiel Logging and Chipping in Denmark, Maine, was also recognized as a Logger of the Year.
This was the second annual meeting of the PLC since its expansion in 2023 from a Maine organization to a regional one, serving loggers and forest truckers across the Northeast.
