Orton Family Foundation announces two new staff members

The Orton Family Foundation has hired two staff members in its Middlebury office, Executive Director David Leckey announced.

Leslie Wright has joined Orton as communications associate and Rachel Moyer has been hired as the foundation’s office manager.

In her role as communications associate, Wright is responsible for digital media and marketing, including the Orton web site, social media and e-communications, and will be assisting in efforts to market the foundation’s Community Heart & Soul™ method. She joins the foundation from Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vt., where she was public relations and marketing manager. Wright is a graduate of Middlebury College and holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.

Moyer will oversee day-to-day functions of Orton’s office, providing support to staff in Middlebury as well as the foundation’s Denver office. She will also provide assistance to the director of finance and human resources. Prior to her current post, Moyer was registrar at Burlington College in Burlington, Vt. She is a graduate of Trinity College in Burlington.

The Orton Family Foundation seeks to empower people to shape the future of their communities by improving local decision-making, creating a shared sense of belonging, and ultimately strengthening the social, cultural, and economic vibrancy of communities.
