Carol Hinkel has been named the recipient of the 2011 Distinguished Service Award by the Northwestern Vermont Board of REALTORS® (NVBR). This prestigious award recognizes a NVBR REALTOR® member who has provided continuous service to the association in various capacities over an extended period.
“The association recognizes the incredible dedication of individual REALTORS® who have worked hard to advance their careers and the careers of others, and who have been involved in improving the quality of life in our communities”, said Kathleen Sweeten, executive vice president of NVBR. “Carol has demonstrated unparalleled commitment to her profession and to the causes she so passionately supports.”
Carol, an agent with Lang McLaughry and Spera in South Burlington, has been a licensed REALTOR® for 30 years. She has served on numerous real estate boards and committees throughout her career, including president of the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors and the Vermont Real Estate Information Network. She has been active with the state and national REALTOR® organizations. Celine was named REALTOR® of the Year by NVBR in 1993.
“Carol always commits her time to training and encouraging agents to enhance their professionalism through education, said Sweeten. “She works to improve the REALTOR® image in the community by sharing her knowledge with others.”
Carol has been a supporter of Burlington area arts and culture including the Flynn Theatre, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Mozart festival, Vermont Public Television, Public Radio as well as many non-profits in the Burlington area. In the early 1970’s she organized the Newcomers Club in Shelburne which is still in existence today. And, she is currently the Vice President of Burlington’s Meals on Wheels.
