Reggie Greene, Senior Vice President, Merchants Bank, announced the appointment of Christopher Halnon as Vice President and Corporate Banking Officer for the Woodstock Avenue, Rutland Office of the Bank. The new facility, opened in January 2010, is located at 92 Woodstock Avenue and is double the previous location’s size.
“We are very pleased to welcome Chris to the Rutland Merchants’ team,” stated Greene. “His active community involvement complements his capabilities and industry knowledge. This strong commitment to community is one Merchants shares, and we are very fortunate to have him join our staff.”
Halnon is a native of Fair Haven and has worked in the Rutland area for the past 10 years. Most recently Halnon served for four years in the Rutland commercial banking arena with TD Bank, successfully managing a large loan portfolio. Prior to his work at TD Bank, Halnon served as Branch Manager for both Rutland and Bennington branches of the Chittenden Bank. Halnon holds his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont.
Halnon is a very active community member. He serves as President of the Marble Valley Kiwanis Club and is a board member of Everybody Wins Vermont, the Rutland County United Way and a member of the Friends of Kids on the Move. He is a Certified Basketball Official and a member of the Rutland Country Club. Halnon is single and lives in Rutland.
