Mark Hamelin has joined VHB as senior landscape architect/land planner in the firm’s South Burlington, Vermont office. Hamelin will provide nationally-recognized design experience to VHB’s growing land planning and design practice in Vermont. He will bolster the firm’s ability to serve clients through the full project lifecycle from initial planning and visioning through final design and construction.
Hamelin brings more than 35 years of professional landscape architecture, land planning, and urban design experience on a wide range of public and private sector projects across Vermont and throughout the country. His work has been recognized by his peers with 19 professional design and planning awards. Notable accomplishments include Burlington’s Waterfront Park, the recently completed Waterbury State Office Complex, and the Spruce Peak Master Plan at Stowe Mountain Resort.

Hamelin has served as an adjunct professor on Green Development at Green Mountain College since 2011, and has been a lecturer at the University of Vermont and Norwich University. He has sat on the Development Review Board for Town of Underhill, Vermont since 2013 and is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the American Planning Association. Hamelin received his Masters in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University, Graduate School of Design and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont’s School of Natural Resources. He is Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards certified and is a registered Professional Landscape Architect in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania and Colorado.
