Lee achieves National Academy of Certified Care Managers designation

Home Care Assistance of Greater Burlington, a leading provider of in-home care for seniors, is pleased to announce that Stacy Lee, Co-Owner and Client Care Manager, has completed her Care Manager, Certified designation by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers.

According to the NACCM a Care Manager is a health and human services specialist who acts as a guide and advocates for clients and or families who are caring for older relatives or disabled adults. All CMC Candidates must meet the rigorous education, experience, and supervision requirements to qualify for the exam. Candidates are tested on the 5 Domains unique to care management. In order to maintain certification, CMC’s are required to participate in continuing education and professional development. Certification is renewed every three years to ensure that Care Managers are practicing at the highest professional level.

“I am passionate about providing the highest caliber care to my clients and becoming a certified Care Manager was one way in which I could improve my knowledge around aging issues and become a valued resource to both my clients and the community,” said Stacy Lee. “I take pride in our reputation for providing the best trained, best screened caregivers in the greater Burlington area; we hire just one out of every 25 applicants. After that hire is made, we spend significant time training and getting to know our caregivers to ensure that we make the best possible client match.”

Home Care Assistance provides hourly and live-in services, allowing seniors to remain safely in their homes. Having an experienced and professional caregiver in the home of the client also provides family members respite and peace of mind. Caregivers utilize a holistic approach to aging, encouraging independence and engaging clients in physical, mental and social activities, in addition to assisting with meal preparation, personal hygiene, bathing, medication reminders, transportation, dementia care services and more.

In addition to this certification Stacy Lee is a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and former RN. She was a nurse, in both home health, oncology and adult ICU hospital settings, for over a decade. She relies on these experiences to help guide clients, families, and caregivers on Home Care Assistance’s Balanced Care Method. Based on the scientific studies of the world’s healthiest seniors, the Balanced Care Method promotes five key lifestyle behaviors correlated with healthy longevity: healthy diet, physical exercise, active social ties, mental stimulation and a sense of purpose and calm. Caregivers are professionally trained to incorporate these methods into daily care to encourage healthy mind, body and spirit. In addition, the Cognitive Therapeutics Method is a research-based program designed to promote long-term brain health and prevent cognitive decline by stimulating the five main cognitive domains with fun and engaging activities.
