Condon and Macduff join Vermont Farmers Food Center Board of Directors

Vermont Farmers Food Center added two members to its Board of Directors: Jody Condon serves as Controller for Castleton University and Joshua MacDuff is a small-diversified farm advocate that uses this drive daily in his Farm Insurance Producer role with local agency, Kinney Pike Insurance. “Food connects all of us and creates a space that fosters learning about food and agriculture and fills my aspirations to help farmers and educate our neighbors about food. I'm thrilled to help strengthen the local food movement in Rutland and support a community that I have felt very connected to since the moment I moved to Vermont,” said Ms Condon.

Mr MacDuff added, “I am excited to be a part of the Board of Directors for the Vermont Farmers Food Center. Greg and his team have thoroughly impressed me with their successes to date. More importantly, I support VFFC’s vision to be an all-inclusive resource to assist small farmers obtain access to the infrastructure and education they need to succeed while keeping the emphasis on high-quality local food. I look forward to playing a role in helping the VFFC succeed in being a driving force in our state’s economic growth within the Agricultural Community.”

Greg Cox, VFFC Board President, welcomed Jody Condon, now VFFC’s Treasurer, and Josh MacDuff and thanked them for strengthening the organization by sharing their knowledge and expertise. They join Ryan Yoder – Vice President; Kathleen Krevetski – Secretary; Meadow Squires; Rob Steingress; and Denis Teague.

Vermont Farmers Food Center (VFFC) began as a grassroots, volunteer-led project and is spearheading the rebuilding of infrastructure necessary for agriculture to serve as a regional economic engine through the development of 2.93 acres of industrially zoned land with four existing buildings in the heart of Downtown Rutland. VFFC increases access and availability of locally produced food in the Rutland Region by expanding markets and market access, aggregation, and distribution of locally produced and value added agricultural products. VFFC is the initiative of the Vermont Farmers Market Education Center, Inc, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization founded in Rutland, Vermont, in 2012.
