Nate Cloutier, wealth adviser and founder of Cloutier Wealth Management, joined South Burlington High School students for their Introduction to Business class to discuss his unique career path.
“As I look back on my journey, it has always been about being proactive and controlling my own destiny,” Cloutier said. “Whether it’s flying across the globe to be a part of the 2000 USA Olympic track and field team in Sydney, Australia, or becoming the first student to develop and graduate with a self-designed major from the University of Vermont, I’ve always pursued my dreams and adapted along the way.”
To this day, his M.O. is unchanged. After spending nearly two decades working for Vermont’s only profes-sional baseball team, the Vermont Lake Monsters, Cloutier took his consultative approach into the world of wealth management. In late 2023, he went out on his own to form his locally owned and independent financial practice, Cloutier Wealth Management.
“As I shared my story, I wanted each student to know that it’s OK to change your mind along the way,” said Cloutier.
“It was made clear to the students in the room that it's entirely okay not to know what they want to do for their career at this point in their lives,” said South Burlington High School teacher Drew Gordon. “Nate communicated that life is all about doing what you love, and what you love may change over time. There’s never a wrong time to pivot if it feels right.”
