Matt Harrington, the executive director of the Bennington Regional Chamber of Commerce serving The Shires of Vermont, has been appointed by the Vermont Association for Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE) to join their executive board.

VACCE is an organization tasked with organizing and growing the over 25 chambers of commerce that exist in the state of Vermont.  The group works on key initiatives impacting business and chambers, as well as provides professional development for the many directors in the state.  The business and affairs of the organization are managed by its Board of Directors.

Harrington is replacing Marji Graf former executive director of the Okemo Valley Chamber of Commerce and will finish out her term.   Harrington will then have an option to seek another two-year term.

Other VACCE Board of Directors including Amy Spear of Stowe Area Association, who is currently the president of VACCE; Betsy Bishop of the Vermont Chamber, Beth Finlayson of the Woodstock Chamber, and Karen O’Donnell of the Jay Peak Chamber.

"We are thrilled to have Matt join our executive board. His marketing, brand building and community advocacy expertise will be valuable additions as we continue to work collaboratively as chamber executives to strengthen local organizations and support economic growth in our communities," States Spear.

Harrington added, “I’m excited to join the leadership board of VACCE.  Chambers are seeking opportunities to grow and evolve to ensure we support our communities and the businesses we represent.  We have to make our chambers relevant and irreplaceable.  I hope I can be a part of this group and help reimagine what chambers of commerce can be in the state of Vermont.  I know the current board well; it will be a great place for me to grow my own knowledge and expertise too.”
