ANEW Place names Kevin Pounds Executive Director

ANEW Place is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has appointed Kevin Pounds as Executive Director. Pounds replaces Valerie Brosseau at the helm of ANEW Place, a community-based nonprofit with a mission to “provide a holistic continuum of services for the homeless, centered in love and dignity, that foster growth, cultivate community engagement, and provide tools for lifelong change so that each person may start ANEW.”

Kevin has been a friend and supporter of ANEW Place over the last six years, working in various capacities to further the organization’s mission in the community. Kevin has served in church leadership and pastor roles for the past 25 years and has founded and led two nonprofit organizations. He is a visionary and servant leader, who loves equipping leaders and serving those on the fringes. He is passionate about the mission and vision of ANEW Place to offer an opportunity for those struggling with homelessness to find hope, transformation, and belonging.

“Kevin Pounds has been a familiar face around ANEW for several years as a volunteer bringing meals, as well as a friend and encourager to the guests. Seeing Kevin choose to invest his time in the guests and into the organization as a volunteer, before ever considering a position on staff demonstrates that this work really is something that Kevin is passionate about. With Kevin's experience, passion and vision for the organization, he really is perfect fit for this role.” said Board Member, Matthew Beer.

Kevin Pounds is a proven, mission-driven leader with a team-oriented approach. His persistence, enthusiasm, and deep commitment to the homeless population make him well-suited to lead the organization in this next season. “After partnering with ANEW the past six years, I knew stepping into this role provides a rare and unique opportunity,” said Kevin Pounds. “I believe in the Vision and Values. I believe in the Process. I believe in the Team of staff and volunteers. I know I am giving my time, energy, and resources to something that matters, because people matter. Under Valerie Brosseau’s leadership ANEW has grown into a community where people who often feel forgotten can come as they are and start anew. That’s why I’m humbled this trusted friend is willing to pass the baton to me.”
