Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care names Catherine Fulton, Executive Director

The Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care (VPQHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Fulton as the new Executive Director.

VPQHC conducted a national search, focused on finding executive level experience and the skill set to respond to evolving expectations for VPQHC in this era of health care reform. Catherine delivers over 30 years of leadership experience, across diverse healthcare settings including behavioral health, community hospital and trauma services. In her most recent position, Catherine was the quality systems manager in the Quality & Safety Department for the Westchester Medical Center, the regional trauma center serving the Hudson Valley in suburban New York.

Catherine earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, and Masters of Science in Health care Administration from the New School University based in New York City. Additionally, she is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), the national certification sought by quality professionals.

The Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality in Vermont by studying the system and making it work better. VPQ analyzes health care data, coordinates efforts to improve health care practices, and makes policy recommendations.

VPQ was created in 1988 by a coalition of health care providers, payers, employers, and consumers. The organization has been designated by the Vermont Legislature as an independent, non-regulatory, peer review committee.
