Vaughn Collins named executive director of Vermont State Dental Society

The Board of Directors of the Vermont State Dental Society (VSDS) has welcomed Vaughn T. Collins as the new Executive Director of the organization. Mr. Collins brings extensive legislative and administrative skills to the VSDS.

Vaughn Collins most recently served as Director of Government Affairs with the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP), a national organization based in Washington, D.C., that promotes conservation and strives to maintain the nation’s hunting and fishing traditions. Prior to his work with TRCP, Mr. Collins served for five years as Director of Public Policy with Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the world leader in wetlands conservation. Prior to that, he was Chief of the Duck Stamp Office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Deputy Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Rural Development Partnership Office.

Mr. Collins’ career is deeply rooted in Vermont, as he was Executive Director of the Vermont Council on Rural Development for four years and was President of the Vermont Community Development Association. Mr. Collins also served on the Board of Vermont Energy Investment Corporation from 1992 to 1995.

Collins holds a Bachelors degree in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and a Masters degree in Public Policy and Applied Economics from the University of Vermont. He is a 1998 graduate of the Vermont Leadership Institute at the Snelling Center for Government.

The Vermont State Dental Society was established in 1877 and is the state's professional association of dentists.
