Town of Randolph hires Director of Economic Development

Randolph officials have announced the hiring of Joshua Jerome as their new Director of Economic Development. Jerome will oversee economic development initiatives such as business recruitment, assessing work force housing, zoning regulations, infrastructure investments to allow growth and streamlining the permitting process. Jerome will also work to capitalize on existing successes that have brought new life and job opportunities to Randolph: expansion of LEDdynamics, which will bring an additional 40 jobs to the region; creation of the Randolph Region Re-Energized (R3) community group; coordination of skill needs by local businesses with education providers; and addressing the need for lodging for visitors by local businesses and others within our community.

Prior to coming to Randolph, Jerome was the Executive Director of the Barre Partnership, Barre’s designated downtown organization. Previous work includes working with businesses throughout the state as Senior Loan Officer at Community Capital of Vermont. Jerome says, “I am excited to be coming to Randolph. Over the last year, municipal officials, local leaders and community members have come together to envision a future of economic opportunity and I look forward to working towards making that a reality.”

Randolph officials look forward to working with Jerome. Town Manager Adolfo Bailon said “we are very excited to have Josh become the newest member of Team Randolph, and the first person to serve as the Town’s Director of Economic Development. The skills and experience that Josh brings to our great town will be invaluable as we all continue to work toward making Randolph a better place to work, play, and live.” Selectboard Member Perry Armstrong said “This has been a vision of ours for many years and we are very happy to welcome Josh to Randolph. We look forward to working with him to strengthen the economy of Randolph and the surrounding region”

Jerome will commence his tenure on March 11, 2019.
