Shelly Hudson named executive director at Camp Thorpe

Shelly Hudson, program coordinator at Spark!, a different-abled drop-in center in Lebanon, NH, has been named executive director of Camp Thorpe, a summer camp in Goshen, VT, for underprivileged children with physical disabilities.

Camp Thorpe was founded in 1927 by the Rev Walter Thorpe and his wife, Lavinia. Their vision arose from observing that at the time the summer camp experience was only available to healthy children from well-to-do families. The camp has evolved through the years, but its commitment to those who may not otherwise have access to Vermont's beauty in the summer has remained its guiding star.

Prior to her work at Spark! Community Center, Hudson held the position of executive director at several nonprofit organizations in New Hampshire. In addition, she runs her own production company, Amplified Arts, in Claremont, NH.
