Rutland Regional Medical Center honors providers of year

Rutland Regional Medical Center recently honored Drs. Zita Ficko and Carl Becker and advanced practice providers Leonard DeLorenzo III and Robin Myers as 2023 providers of the year. Ficko and DeLorenzo represented Rutland Regional Medical Center and Becker and Myers represented Rutland Area Community Providers.

Ficko, a physician with Marble Valley Urology, was named Rutland Regional Physician of the Year. She was recognized by her peers as a passionate and collegial physician who is a master in her field. Ficko is a graduate of Yale University and holds a master’s in international business from University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia, and a medical degree from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.

DeLorenzo, an oncology/hematology physician assistant at the Foley Cancer Center, was named Rutland Regional Advanced Practice Provider of the Year. He was nominated for his professionalism, integrity and work ethic and is seen as an astute clinician and a shining star among his peers. He holds bachelor's degrees from Saint Michael’s College and Duke University.

Beckler, a family medicine physician at Community Health’s Mettowee Family Clinic, was honored as Rutland Region Primary Care Physician of the Year. He was recognized for going above and beyond for his patients and always making himself open and accessible for consultation. Beckler received a medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals.

Myers, a family nurse practitioner and medical director at Community Health Brandon, was named Rutland Region Advanced Practice Provider of the Year. She was nominated for her collaboration, compassion and leadership skills. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont and holds a master's in adult nurse practice from Russell Sage College and doctorate in nurse practice from UMass Amherst.
