Ralph DesLauriers (pictured) and the DesLauriers family, owners and managers of Bolton Valley Resort in Bolton, have been named recipients of this year's New England Ski Museum's Spirit of Skiing Award.
The award recognizes individuals who embody the memorable adage of Otto Schniebs, the 1930s Dartmouth ski coach: "Skiing is not just a sport, it is a way of life."
DesLauriers and his family were cited for their dedication to creating a community centered around skiing and their continual improvements to Bolton Valley Resort to enhance the skiing experience.
DesLauriers and his father, Ronald, developed the resort in the 1960s. Continuing the family legacy, Ralph's children — Adam, Evan and Lindsay — now actively manage the facility, ensuring that the spirit of skiing thrives for future generations.
