Geoffrey R. Hesslink, Executive Vice President & Senior Lender at Merchants Bank, announced the Corporate Banking promotions of Bruce Bernier to Northern Region Manager & Vice President and Bill Kidder to Eastern Region Manager & Vice President.
“These two key promotions reflect our continued commitment to build Vermont’s preeminent commercial bank,” expressed Hesslink. “Both Bruce and Bill bring tremendous commercial lending experience to these positions and I expect their impact on our company’s success to be immediate and lasting,” Hesslink added.
Since 2007, Mr. Bernier has held the title of Corporate Banking Officer for Merchants Bank–providing commercial lending expertise to some of Vermont’s most respected and well-run companies. Prior to joining Merchants Bank, Mr. Bernier spent 14 years working for a number of Vermont banks–excelling in many areas of commercial banking including credit, loan and workout.
Prior to this promotion, Mr. Kidder spent over two years as Corporate Banking Officer for Merchants Bank–helping businesses grow and prosper in a challenging economic environment.
Mr. Kidder brings nearly 25 years of business banking experience to his new role–having worked in many roles for a wide range of banks and financial institutions across Vermont. Mr. Kidder has earned a solid reputation in many parts of Vermont and Western New Hampshire–with particular emphasis in Eastern Vermont.
