KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, has named Renee Bourget-Place as managing partner of its Burlington office.
In her new role, Bourget-Place will be responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the Burlington office. She succeeds Ken Deon, who is now leading the firm’s Albany office.
“Across our region, companies are seeking a competitive advantage that allows them to adapt and thrive in this dynamic environment,” said Bourget-Place. “I look forward to working with our partners and professionals to proactively deliver insights and services that allow our clients to navigate today’s complex business realities.”
Bourget-Place has more than 15 years experience providing audit services to higher-education and insurance clients across New England and in the Burlington area. She began her career with KPMG in 1995 in the Burlington office, worked as a comptroller for a private company for two years, and returned to KPMG in 2005. She was elected to the KPMG partnership in 2007.
Patrick Canning, who is KPMG’s Boston Office Managing Partner and is responsible for all offices in the New England and Upstate NY business unit, said that “Renee’s extensive involvement in and knowledge of the Burlington and Vermont business community, coupled with her experience working with a wide variety of organizations, makes her a great choice to lead our business. We know that she will deliver our firm to the market very effectively.”
An active member of the community, Bourget-Place serves on the Board of Directors of the Converse Home and is currently Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Greater Burlington YMCA. She also is a graduate of Leadership Champlain, a leadership program sponsored by the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Vermont Business Roundtable.
A licensed CPA in Vermont, Massachusetts and New York, Bourget-Place received a BS from Trinity College and an AS from Champlain College.
