Valerie Stark, senior personal lines underwriter at Vermont Mutual Insurance Group, has been awarded a Dixie Watson Memorial Scholarship by the Vermont Association of Insurance Professionals. Watson was a co-founding member of VTAIP's predecessor, the Green Mountain Association of Insurance Women.
Stark has been an active member of VTAIP since 1996 and served as the group's state director from 2001 to 2003. She continues to serve on numerous association committees.
Stark will use the scholarship to continue the course work required for her Associate in Client Relations designation. “The ACR courses provide me with tools and knowledge that help me build stronger relationships with my agents and peers,” she said.
