Brattleboro Retreat announces changes to board of trustees

Jeffrey J. Morse, president and chief executive officer of River Valley Credit Union, has been elected to serve as the new Chair of the Brattleboro Retreat’s Board of Trustees. Jeff has served on the Retreat’s board since 2009, and is past chair of the Finance Committee. His tenure as Board Chair will run through 2016.
"For the past three years, Peter Sherlock has done a tremendous job of guiding the organization forward through very challenging times,” said Morse. “I hope to continue this process in the Chair's role to help assure that we meet the needs of our patients with the highest quality care possible."
In addition to serving on the Retreat board, Jeff is a board member of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce and treasurer of the Association of Vermont Credit Unions.
The Retreat Board of Trustees has also welcomed Elizabeth Catlin as its newest member. Elizabeth founded Bluestone Wealth Management in Keene in 2005 where she works as an investment advisor. A graduate of Harvard and Duke Law School, she first came to Brattleboro to work for the Honorable James L. Oakes in 1995.
"I am energized by the vibrant role the Retreat is playing under the leadership of Rob Simpson to provide high quality mental health services for our community, state, and region” said Catlin. “It is clear that the Retreat is a well-run and forward-looking organization. I am honored to be joining the many people working toward the common goal of its continued strength."
In addition to serving on the Retreat board, Elizabeth is Vice President of The Latchis Corporation board, President of the Green Mountain Camp for Girls board, and a board member and coach for Girls on the Run Vermont. She is also an appointed member of the state's Clean Energy Development Fund.
