VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region employee awards announced

The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) is pleased to announce this year’s Employee of the Year and HEALTH Matters Award Winners. Thirty-eight employees were recognized for years of service including Sharon Davis, Utilization Review Specialist for 35 years of service. Davis was also recognized as the VNAHSR’s Employee of the Year.

The Employee of the Year Award recognizes an employee whose work exemplifies the values of respect and dignity of the individual, excellence, honesty and fairness, stewardship of resources, and teamwork. In her nomination as Employee of the Year, Sharon Davis was noted as exemplifying the work ethic of the agency, “Sharon is one of the unsung heroes among us, She is always willing to help others no matter what the problem and has gone above and beyond (many) times.”

Other award recipients were honored as part of the HEALTH Matters recognition program, an agency-wide initiative whose recipients emulate the core values of Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Leadership, Teamwork, and Helpfulness. HEALTH Matters award recipients are nominated by their colleagues for consistently demonstrating the core values of the agency. This year’s winners include Alicia Elwood, an LPN in the CarePlus program, Dustin Cummings, Physical Therapy Assistant, Nancy Houghton, Physical Therapist, Juli House, RN and Clinical Manager of the agency’s Manchester location, Curtis Bourque, Project Assistant and Eileen Allen, Customer Service Associate.

The agency recognized all staff with the Unforgettable Award to recognize the impact the staff has on the health of the community.
