Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum appoints new director of development

The Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum (VTSSM) announced today that Pamela Schmuhl has joined the museum staff as Director of Development.

Pamela has more than 14 years in fund development and non-profit services, and most recently was the Director of Development with a health and huma

human services organization in Massachusetts. She also is an accomplished marketing-communications professional for national Fortune 100 companies and will provide both strategic and tactical input at the VTSSM.

Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum has an exceptional team of dedicated volunteers and staff that have guided its successes, and I look forward to contributing to that development and growth," Pamela said. "The museum is poised to provide ski and snowboard experiential exhibits and educational programming throughout the state; making this an exciting time to be involved."

The Director of Development is a new position created to increase museum membership and philanthropic support.

Rick Hamlin, Chairman of the museum board of directors said "We are very excited about Pamela joining the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum family. She will complement our existing team by filling the important role of Director of Development and will help us move the museum into its next decade of excellence."

The museum's mission is to "Collect, Preserve, and Celebrate Vermont's skiing and snowboarding history". Founded as the Vermont Ski Museum in 1988, the museum moved to its current location in Stowe in 2000. Snowboarding was added to the museum and its name in 2011. The museum offers local communities and area guests the opportunity for an experiential encounter, educational programming, and a wonderful gift shop all related to skiing and snowboarding. In addition the museum hosts the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, and sponsors a series of annual events.
