Vermont Information Technology Leaders names assistant vice president, program implementation

Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) has named Judith A. Franz to assistant vice president, program implementation. In this newly created position, Franz will be responsible for developing strategies and implementing programs designed to accelerate the adoption of health information technology in Vermont, in addition to managing VITL’s eHealth Services Team.

Franz joins VITL from athenahealth, Inc., where she served as a client account executive working with enterprise health care organizations, to develop customized products including electronic medical records and other service solutions. Franz has also held marketing, market research, and consulting positions with Competitive Marketing Systems, IDX Systems Corporation (now GE Healthcare), and Macro International, Inc. (now ICF International). She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing from The University of Vermont. Franz resides in Essex Junction.

Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. (VITL) is a non-profit organization that manages Vermont’s health information exchange (HIE) and assists health care providers statewide with the adoption and meaningful use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and other health information technology. The Vermont HIE connects EHR systems from the state’s hospitals, providers, independent practices, and other health care organizations in order to securely and effectively exchange patients’ clinical data to improve the quality of care delivery and reduce costs as well as to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
