Simpson Cabinetry, a custom cabinet and woodworking shop, has been purchased by Betsy and Andy Cabrera of Richmond, Vt. The Cabreras plan to expand the business while continuing the company’s tradition of locally built, quality custom kitchens, baths and furniture.
“We knew about Simpson Cabinetry’s outstanding craftsmanship and highquality custom cabinetry,” Betsy Cabrera said. “And we saw an opportunity to continue the Simpson tradition of heirloom quality, custom cabinetry at a reasonable price, a reputation that Bruce Simpson built with such pride of workmanship and attention to detail.”
Under new ownership many things at Simpson will stay the same, Cabrera said. Simpson will continue to offer handcrafted kitchens, baths, built-ins and furniture made from sustainably harvested wood in the company’s 5,000-square-foot workshop at 1519 Shelburne Road. The shop’s experienced staff of woodworkers will also remain.
Changes include a new showroom and design studio that has been built adjacent to the workshop. In addition, the company web site will be enhanced including features that allow clients to follow the progress of their custom project.
“We are excited about this opportunity,” said Andy Cabrera. “Our aim is to introduce Simpson’s product line to a wider audience of contractors and omeowners and show them that custom cabinetry can affordably fit into their building or remodeling plans, especially when weighing satisfaction with the installed product.”
