Specialty Food Association elects Gilbert President, recognizes Crosby

The Vermont Specialty Food Association has elected Jack Gilbert as President. Gilbert owns and operates Gringo Jack’s, a popular restaurant in Manchester, VT and producer of tortilla chips, salsa and related products. Also elected were Laurie Callahan of Cabot Creamery as Vice President and Bob Christoffel of Creative Labels as Secretary-Treasurer.

In addition, Roger Myers of Lake Champlain Chocolates was re-elected to serve on the organization’s board of directors.

Kim Crosby of Vermont Roots has stepped down as association president after leading the organization the past three years. During Kim’s term as board president, the organization has grown in membership and added new services. She was recognized for her service to the association at the annual meeting June 7 at the Mountain Top Inn, Chittenden, VT.

The Vermont Specialty Food Association is a statewide organization representing over 120 Vermont food producers and about 20 suppliers to the industry. It is the nation’s oldest and one of the most highly regarded specialty food organizations.
