Spa at The Essex announces hiring of leadership team

The Essex, Vermont’s Culinary Resort and Spa, announces the hiring of its new Spa and Salon leadership team: Spa and Activities Director John Morris, Spa Manager Juliana Baker, and Salon and Aesthetics Manager Beth Rawson. The 22,000 square foot Spa at The Essex officially opened to the public on Saturday, June 27. Morris has spent more than twenty-five years in the hospitality industry, most recently serving as spa, tennis, and recreation manager at several St. Joe properties in Florida, including the communities of WaterColor and WaterSound. A Massachusetts native, Morris graduated from Boston College. Baker comes to The Essex after spending five years at Topnotch Resort and Spa, including three years as Spa Manager. A graduate of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, Baker has been actively employed in the hospitality industry for more than six years. Rawson, also a six-year hospitality veteran, brings her experience to The Essex after recently serving as salon manager at Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa. A licensed cosmetologist and esthetician, Rawson received degrees from O’Briens Training Center in South Burlington and Salon Professional Academy in Williston. Nestled on 18 acres between the Green Mountains and Lake Champlain, The Essex is a 120-room resort and spa featuring the cuisine of the New England Culinary Institute in Butler’s, our formal dining room, as well as the casual Tavern. We also provide cooking classes, tennis, golf, hot air ballooning and are Vermont’s only Orvis®-endorsed fly fishing lodge. Spa at The Essex features 22,000 square feet of relaxation, including ten treatment rooms, a full fitness center, 25-yard indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, movement studio, and his and her saunas, steam rooms, and relaxation lounges.
