Brenda Siegel’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor has hired Victoria Moon as campaign manager. Most recently Moon worked for the Bernie Sanders' campaign, where she served as the Political Coordinator in Iowa and then as the Development Manager for the presidential campaign.
Moon is a community activist and political organizer. She has spent the last three years working in the racial justice, restorative justice, and progressive politics spaces. Victoria received a B.A. in International Relations with an emphasis in Latin American Women’s History from Point Loma Nazarene University. In Austin, TX, she did fundraising work for Save the Children as well as grassroots organizing for the 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign. After relocating to Iowa, she served as a Case Monitor for Youth Justice Initiative; an alternative to juvenile detention and a community-based restorative justice process. In 2018 she worked as the Latinx Community Outreach Intern for the DeJear for Iowa campaign. She is a 2019 New Leaders Alumna.
In May of 2019 Victoria joined the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign serving as Iowa Political Coordinator where she specialized in labor affairs, education, and environmental justice. Victoria was then relocated to Vermont in February of 2020 to act as the campaign's Development Manager.
Moon is passionate about creating equitable communities for all. She brings to the Brenda for Vermont team a deep understanding of community development, grassroots organizing and fundraising experience.
“I know that we have to continue to build this movement from the ground up. I joined this campaign because I believe we can have a Vermont that works for all of us. One that centers people and the planet. I know that Brenda is fighting for the same values and policies that we were fighting for on Bernie campaign. I am so excited to work with a candidate who will stand up to do what is right, who has worked hard to build better in the face of adversity, and who will listen to and hear all of us. Brenda's experience rebuilding out of crisis strengthens her understanding and approach to policy and serving in our government. She has a commitment to Bold Climate Action, Building a Bottom Up Economy, Healing the Overdose Crisis and Strengthening and Supporting our Education system. I know that if we want to make the changes we have been fighting for, then we have to back candidates who have a history of fighting for what is right even in unpopular times. Brenda is that candidate.” Said Moon.
After joining the Siegel campaign a month ago on May 29th, Moon has seen a groundswell of support from across the state. “Brenda is the candidate for change. She is the candidate who has the experience and understanding and is not afraid of bold leadership or tough discussions. “ said Moon.
