Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice (RAVNAH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Moran, MSN, RN, as Director of Hospice and Palliative Care for the newly formed VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSWR). In her role, Moran will oversee both the hospice and palliative care programs for VNAHSWR’s three agencies: Bennington Area VNA & Hospice (BAVNAH), Dorset Area VNA & Hospice (DAVNAH) and Rutland Area VNA & Hospice.
Moran brings more than 10 years of experience in nursing and clinical management. Most recently Moran held the position of ICU and Life Safety Unit Clinical Manager at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), where she was responsible for ensuring standards of care, serving as a clinical resource, and developing staff. Prior to her position at DHMC, Moran served as the Intensive Care Unit/Progressive Care Unit Clinical Manager at Rutland Regional Medical Center (RRMC), where she was responsible for supervising and developing staff, as well as implementing educational programs.
Her new position marks a return to hospice care for Moran, who previously worked as a Nurse Case Manager for RAVNAH. “Since returning to the organization I have an overwhelming feeling that I am back home again. Throughout my nursing career I have always been passionate about palliative care and hospice. Looking at death and dying as an opportunity to celebrate life and by welcoming whatever comes next is extremely gratifying. This work is more rewarding than anything I have done in my career and it is a privilege to provide these services to the community that I call home”, said Moran.
“We’re thrilled to have her back”, said Ron Cioffi, RAVNAH CEO. “Nicole is passionate, dedicated and extremely knowledgeable. She will be a strong addition to our team as we continue to grow our Hospice and Palliative care programs across both Rutland and Bennington Counties.”
Moran received her Associate of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science from Castleton State College and her MSN from Sacred Heart University. She was born and raised in Rutland.
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region is comprised of three Medicare-certified, non-profit home and community health care agencies, including Rutland Area VNA & Hospice (RAVNAH), Dorset Area VNA & Hospice (DAVNAH) and Bennington Area VNA & Hospice (BAVNAH).
