The Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce recently honored Glenn Heitsmith and Amy Messina as the organization's 2023 member of the year and volunteer of the year, respectively.

Heitsmith, owner of the Timber Inn Motel in Ludlow, was recognized for his inn receiving a Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award in 2022, ranking it among the top 10% of hotels worldwide. Glenn also recently served as moderator of the chamber’s Legislative Forum, and he has been an active community member with organizations such as the Ludlow Rotary Club.

Messina, a broker at Town & Country Realty Associates in Ascutney, was selected as Volunteer of the Year for her outstanding efforts as chair of the chamber’s Membership Committee and for her work on the organization's board of directors. Messina also helped secure speakers for the chamber's annual meeting last year and recruited State Treasurer Mike Pieciak to participate in the association's annual Legislative Forum.

The Okemo chamber is a not-for-profit, member-driven association representing the businesses and the communities of 12 towns and villages in South Central Vermont along the scenic Route 100 Byway.
