McGuire named to SVHC Foundation NY Regional Advisory Board

The Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) Foundation New York Regional Advisory Board is pleased to welcome Jan McGuire. Jan is a graduate of Vermont College/Norwich University and has worked the past 41 years as a Registered Professional Nurse. Her first 17 years were spent at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) on a medical-surgical unit, including 4 years as the head nurse of SVMC’s West Wing. Following SVMC, Jan worked for 7 years at Bennington Area Home Health (BAHHA) as staff nurse, preceptor, resource person for wound and IV care, and as hospice coordinator. She received the Nurse Excellence Award BAHHA in 2000. Her final 17-year tenure was spent at Hoosick Falls Central School as the Elementary School nurse responsible for the health care and screening of over 600 students and 100 staff members each year. Now retired, Jan is looking forward to travel, spending time with family and friends, and continued community involvement.

The SVHC Foundation New York Regional Advisory Board consists of six members. Members are nominated by members of the group or by the health system. The SVHC Foundation’s mission is to engage in development and fundraising activities exclusively for the support of the Southwestern Vermont Health Care Corporation.
