Local advisor receives MDRT Foundation Quality of Life Grant honoring community service

Timothy (“Tim”) Lee Cope, advisor at Fleischer Jacobs Group in South Burlington, today presented a $2,500 check to the Greater Burlington Y. The check represents a Quality of Life Grant awarded by the Million Dollar Roundtable (MDRT) Foundation in recognition of Mr. Cope’s outstanding volunteerism with the Y. Mary Burns, President and CEO of the Greater Burlington Y, accepted the check during a presentation at Fleischer Jacobs Group.

Mr. Cope launched his long-term volunteer work with the Y in the early 1980s—when he helped the organization raise $1M for a new pool. In the years since, he has actively participated on the Y’s Long-Range Planning Committee, on the Annual Fundraising Committee, and as a member of the Board of Directors. In the past year and a half alone, his countless hours of dedication have helped the Y raise close to $200,000 in support of scholarships for low-income, at-risk and under-served populations in the Greater Burlington community.

“Whenever we need a dependable volunteer who is energetic, has a can-do attitude, and is committed to seeing the job through, we ask Tim,” says Ms. Burns. “Not only is he enthusiastic and a pleasure to work with, but he lives the values that are the core of our Y: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We are honored that the MDRT Foundation has recognized Tim in such a meaningful way on our behalf.”

The Million Dollar Roundtable is the premier association of financial services professionals, and comprises less than one percent of the world's life insurance and financial services professionals from 464 companies in more than 80 nations and territories. The MDRT Foundation’s Quality of Life program, created in 1990, recognizes MDRT members for their community involvement. This year, 22 recipients were selected for the award, and the MDRT Foundation donated a total of $100,000 on their behalf.

“As a 10-year member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, I am thrilled by the opportunities the MDRT Foundation provides to give back to my community—and to improve the quality of life for those in need,” says Mr. Cope. “The check I presented today will help provide financial assistance for early childhood education and camp programs for our community’s most vulnerable children—and reflects the caring and sharing spirit we members exhibit in our profession, in the industry and the lives of others.”
