Encore Renewable Energy strengthens its Board of Advisors

Encore Renewable Energy is pleased to announce that two highly experienced clean energy leaders have joined its Board of Advisors. The addition of Jon Anda along with Dr Peter Jansson further bolsters the significant expertise which resides within the Company’s Board of Advisors. Mr Anda brings to Encore deep experience in all areas of finance, having served as one of the top executives within Morgan Stanley's investment banking division for numerous years as well as at other leading financial institutions. Mr. Anda’s career also includes a similar track record within organizations focused on climate change and other critical environmental issues, such as the Environmental Defense Fund. Jon has also worked in academia, serving as an adjunct professor at Yale's School of Management, and as a visiting fellow at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy at Duke University.

Dr Peter Jansson adds to Encore’s Board of Advisors the unique perspectives of one of the technical leaders in the nascent days of the solar PV industry. For over 30 years beginning in the early 1980s, Peter worked as an engineer on the cutting edge of the electric power industry. During this time, Peter designed and installed well over 100MW of commercial and utility scale solar PV systems. Dr Jansson entered academia in 2001 and is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Bucknell University.

Jon Anda is an investment banker, climate activist, and entrepreneur. In his 20-year career at Morgan Stanley he was Vice Chairman of Institutional Securities, co-head of global capital markets, head of equity capital markets, and head of investment banking & institutional equities in Asia. He was named a Managing Director of the firm while a generalist investment banker based in Chicago. Jon stepped down from his position at Morgan Stanley to help develop carbon as a financial market in the US. He joined the Environmental Defense Fund in 2007 as President of the Environmental Markets Network and subsequently became a Visiting Fellow at the Nicholas Institute at Duke University.

He testified before the House Commerce and Energy Committee on Waxman-Markey in 2009 and worked on strategies for the unsuccessful KGL proposals in the Senate the following year. Along with his co-author, Sasha Golub, he later presented his published work on 450ppm policy as an NPV-negative but nonetheless cheap option to hedge the higher uncertainty & skew of climate damages relative to mitigation cost. After serving as chief sustainability officer and a Vice Chairman of UBS Securities, he was EVP Strategy of Energy Points, a lifecycle energy and environmental analytics SaaS business purchased by Lux Research in early 2016. He now consults in ESG Investment and CSR. Jon is a high honors graduate of the University of Illinois in Accounting with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Dr Peter Jansson is President of Integrated Systems, a renewable energy consulting engineering firm, as well as an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Bucknell University. He worked as an engineer in the electric power industry and consulting for nearly 20 years before entering academia in 2001, during which time he designed/installed well over 100MW of commercial and utility scale solar PV systems during the nascent days of the solar industry.

Peter researched innovations in the electric power industry at the University of Cambridge, where he received his PhD, after completing his Master’s degree at Rowan University. His undergraduate engineering education was completed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has developed multiple courses over his 16+ year academic career including electric power systems, renewable energy systems and sustainable design in engineering. He has taught multiple classes abroad and his current research focus includes: smart residential microgrids; smart homes; interconnection of large scale renewable energy systems with the electric grid; photovoltaic system design and optimization; improving efficiency and costs of renewable energy systems; energy efficiency; sustainability for large commercial enterprises; economically achieving carbon neutrality; sustainable transportation, and Mach’s Principle. As a registered professional engineer in the states of PA and NJ, Peter regularly consults on all major aspects of the electric power systems and renewable energy. He resides in Lewisburg, PA with his wife and daughter.
