The nonpartisan Vermont Council on Rural Development welcomed two new employees who will play critical roles within the organization's programming, including community visits, leadership initiatives and the climate economy program.
Hannah Carpino, former grant specialist at the Vermont Foodbank, will serve as VCRD's community and policy manager, and Laura Cavin Bailey, a former course instructor at Yestermorrow Design/Build School, will serve as climate economy program manager.
Carpino brings extensive experience in community-engagement work throughout Vermont, along with strong skills in facilitation, project management and community coalition building. Bailey, who serves as board president of the Vermont Green Building Network, brings a wealth of knowledge within energy systems.
“VCRD is thrilled to have Hannah and Laura joining the team in these important roles,” said VCRD Executive Director Brian Lowe. “Their skills, knowledge and commitment to Vermont will help support our work in communities across the state.”
