Brattleboro Retreat staff members Dr. Jarred Zucker, Kurt White and Mary Wilson were recently honored for outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
Zucker, medical staff president, was named 2024 Faculty Teacher of the Year by the Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth College’s Geisel School of Medicine. The award honors Zucker's commitment, compassion and consistent excellence in teaching medical students.
“I'm humbled, honored and proud to be part of the educational program at Geisel, shaping the doctors of tomorrow,” Zucker said. “I'm also very grateful to the Brattleboro Retreat for recognizing the importance of academia and the benefits it brings to our patients and community.”
White, vice president of community partnerships and communications, and Wilson, communications and media relations manager, won two Lamplighter Awards from the New England Society for Healthcare Communications. These include a Silver Award for their "Unravelling" podcast and an Excellence Award for the retreat's 2024 annual report, "Strength in Care, Bold in Growth."
“This recognition is a testament to the power of storytelling,” said White. “We may be a small department, but we are deeply committed to telling the story of the Retreat in a way that resonates beyond our campus, reaching hearts, changing minds and moving the conversation around mental health forward.”
