Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees honored for ‘extraordinary leadership’

Seven Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees were recognized at the bank's annual Chairman's Dinner and Celebration May 19 for demonstrating extraordinary leadership in helping the institution achieve its strategic goals and deliver positive outcomes for customers.

The event’s highest honor, the Chairman's Award, was presented to Jennifer Seekins (pictured), senior vice president of treasury service sales, and Elizabeth Smith, senior vice president and managed asset group manager. They were selected by Chairman of the Board David B. Woodside in recognition of their consistent display of the bank’s brand behaviors, strategic thinking, perseverance through challenges, ability to motivate and several other factors.

“The Chairman’s Award is our opportunity to recognize individuals in the organization who exemplify excellence and inspire others to do the same,” said bank President and CEO Curtis C. Simard. “Jenn and Elizabeth are humble leaders who drive results and lead by example. They aren’t afraid to do the heavy lifting, and I am honored to call them colleagues.”

Seekins joined the bank in 2019 and leads the Treasury Services Group in providing commercial banking customers with cash management and merchant services solutions. She is located in Waterville, Maine. Smith has been with the bank for 13 years and is a key contributor to its risk mitigation efforts. She is located in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

Emerging Leader Awards were presented to five high-performing employees who have demonstrated strong leadership skills and significant potential for growth in the organization. Recipients were: Morgan Forni, branch relationship manager of the Southwest Harbor, Maine, office; Sean McIntyre, vice president and regional relationship manager for the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont; Colleen Paquette, assistant vice president and branch relationship manager for the Andover, Bradford and Newbury, New Hampshire, offices; Crystal Richards, vice president and regional relationship manager for Downeast Maine; and Beckie Thibodeau, assistant vice president and human resources operations manager.
